Android 2.3 Gingerbread update to bring wireless music sync

Android 2.3 Gingerbread update to bring wireless music sync

gingerbreadmusAndroid 2.3 Gingerbread could bring wireless music sync to your Android phone, as revealed in a screenshot posted online.
A screenshot of an Android 2.3 Gingerbread device displaying an official “Sync Music” option has been published by Gizmo Fusion. The option is nestled within the “Data & Synchronization” Settings menu, but what does it mean?
It points towards two main possibilities — that Google’s working on its own online music store, or an iTunes rival that would allow you to sync your music collection between your PC (ok, or Mac) and Android phone.
The second mystery is whether this Music Sync feature will be tied to an additional app, one you’d download from the Android Market, or to a version of the Android software. If Google chooses the app route, even owners of oldie Androids could get in on this action — and why not, given that they all include Wi-Fi?
Rumours of a Google music service have littered the internet for years now, but with no concrete news from Google itself, we’re left splashing about as usual in the paddling pool of speculation. Our rubber ducky tells us its on the cards, but what do you think?
