HTC Desire 2 leaked — dead ringer for Google Nexus One
A new HTC flagship Android phone has been leaked online. Harking back to early 2010, the HTC Desire 2 looks a lot like the HTC-made Google Nexus One.
Renders of HTC’s 2011 range of Android phones have been published online by PocketNow, and the most interesting of the lot is this one, the HTC Desire 2. It uses the curvier design seen in the HTC Desireand Google Nexus One, rather than the boxier look of the newer HTC Desire HD. The lack of an optical trackpad or trackball is also a notable design choice.
The last nugget we can take from this render is that it features an unusually conspicuous user-facing camera, to the right of the top speaker grille. When most high-end mobiles seek to make user-facing snappers as invisible as possible, is this a hint that this render may not be entirely legit? Unless PocketNow ‘fesses up and tells us more about its sources, we’ll have to wait until Mobile World Congres 2011 to find out — HTC is expected to reveal its 2011 line-up official at the conference in February.
